Mamapreneur & Holistic Guide

I’m Kristy Ross LaMariana, born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1969, and raised in Northern Virginia. Over the years, I’ve evolved into a dedicated holistic guide and mamapreneur. I graduated from Langley High School in 1987, and then earned my Bachelor of Science in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Art from Virginia Wesleyan College. Later, I completed my Master of Science in Art Psychotherapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School, where I gained valuable experience working in psychiatric hospitals, schools, elder care facilities, and more—while also bartending to support my studies.

After graduation, I moved to New York for a year, diving deeper into my spiritual practices and holistic modalities. During this time, I studied MARI (mandala) card assessment, Eriksonian clinical hypnotherapy, Yoga, Native American shamanism, and life after life studies. I became a Reiki Master and a Non-Denominational Interfaith Minister, all while immersing myself in the transformative teachings of A Course in Miracles.

In 1995, I made my way to New Mexico, where I wore many hats—working as a fine-dining server, art therapist, yoga teacher, and ministerial officiant. I eventually became a bereavement counselor and chaplain at a hospice, leading memorial services and guiding people through their grief. I also had the honor of serving on the board of a New Mexico Hospice 501c3, which I later inherited and transformed into The O’Waken Foundation.

A pivotal chapter in my journey was studying with Dr. Raymond Moody, the pioneer of near-death experience research. Dr. Moody taught me the practice of psychomanteum reflection, helping people connect with their departed loved ones. I also became a certified yoga instructor and Firewalk instructor, and created a spiritual retreat called Touchstone in the mountains of New Mexico. There, I hosted retreats, taught yoga, led firewalks, officiated memorial services, weddings, and held counseling sessions.

After raising four sons, I returned to the entrepreneurial world, where I contributed to our family’s motorcycle dealership through team-building, fashion shows, public relations, and showroom merchandising. I also conceptualized a plant-based fast food franchise. When the dealership closed, I wrote my book, O’Wakening and invented O’flo, a product for sexual health, earning a patent and receiving grants from Intel and the Los Alamos National Labs.

My personal journey includes navigating the painful end of a nearly 30-year marriage, which deeply influenced my path of healing and holistic guidance. Today, I offer Sage Support to help others through grief, depression, anxiety, guilt, and shame. I emphasize the importance of being present, practicing thought cleansing, and reconnecting with self-love, self-compassion, and empowerment. I remind my clients that healing begins with awareness, acceptance, and the courage to rise above a victim mentality.

For me, the key to holistic health and wellness exists in the present moment—the power of Now. Through my unique blend of mind-body-soul practices, I empower individuals at all ages and stages of life and death to heal and transform their lives.

Your Muse~

Take some time. Take care of yourself. You deserve it.

Because healing begins with honoring you—gently, fully, and without apology.
