Sacred Reflections for Spiritual Connection
Dr. Raymond Moody’s Psychomanteum Reflections is a deeply contemplative offering rooted in ancient grief traditions and modern-day therapeutic insight. Inspired by Dr. Moody’s groundbreaking research into ancient Greek mourning practices, this experience invites guests into a sacred space designed to gently facilitate connection with departed loved ones, inner reflections and aspects of self.
Historically, the psychomanteum was a domed chamber beneath the earth, entered through a tunnel and smoke-filled passage meant to shift consciousness. Within this chamber, mourners would gaze into a dark reflective surface…often a cauldron of wine, illuminated by candlelight…to encounter visions, sounds or sensations linked to those they had lost. These encounters were profound, often providing deep resolution in cases of complicated grief and were regarded as both sacred and healing.
At Corrales Grief Spa, we honor and reimagine this timeless practice in our modern Reflections Room… a quiet, dimly lit sacred space, designed to support inner stillness and spiritual openness. In this space, guests enter a meditative state where they may experience a sense of presence, insight, or connection…whether with a beloved who has passed or with deeper parts of their own psyche. Each session is personal, private and gently supported with care.
Guests who have entered the Reflections Room describe experiences of connection, profound peace, emotional release and renewed clarity. While each journey is unique, the space consistently offers an invitation to move beyond intellectual understanding and into a realm of mystery, meaning and healing. Psychomanteum Reflections is ideal for those navigating complex grief, spiritual inquiry, or a longing for meaningful connection beyond the veil.
