Gentle Yoga for Grief & Renewal
O’Waken Yoga at Corrales Grief Spa is offered as a gentle, restorative practice designed to support the integration of body, mind and soul during times of grief and transformation. The word yoga means “to yoke” or “to unite,” and through this ancient practice, guests are guided to reconnect with themselves in compassionate and embodied ways. Our approach is not performance-based, rather it is presence-based. Every movement is an invitation to feel, release and restore.
Grief often lodges itself in the body, manifesting as tension, fatigue, shallow breath, or a general sense of disconnection. Gentle yoga postures help identify and soften these areas, encouraging the movement of stagnant emotional energy and offering the body a space to process what the heart holds. Each session is guided with sensitivity and intention, creating a trauma-informed, nurturing environment where guests can safely explore their inner experience.
Our yoga offerings emphasize breath, awareness and alignment rather than intensity or exertion. Postures are carefully chosen to encourage grounding, openness and nervous system regulation. Whether practiced individually or in a small group, sessions often integrate calming breathwork, mindful transitions and moments of stillness that deepen the body’s receptivity to healing.
